Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Cine 5.1 handles information when you use its Netflix playback enhancements and watch-history features for Netflix and Prime Video.
1. Safari website access
Cine 5.1 may require Safari extension access to supported Netflix and Prime Video webpages in order to provide the features you enable. Website access is used for the extension’s playback or watch-history functionality rather than for unrelated browsing activity.
2. Netflix playback enhancements
For 5.1 audio and 1080p features, Cine 5.1 may read or interact with information exposed by the Netflix webpage or player that is necessary to request compatible playback options. Feature availability remains controlled by Netflix, the title, account, device and playback environment.
3. Watch History
To provide watch history, Cine 5.1 may read supported viewing information visible or available on Netflix and Prime Video webpages, such as title identifiers, names or viewing-state information needed to build the history experience.
4. Local storage
Extension preferences and watch-history information may be stored locally on your Mac so Cine 5.1 can remember enabled features and display your history. The core experience is not designed to require a MacThru account.
5. IMDb and other third-party information
Cine 5.1 may show IMDb context or links for supported titles. Opening third-party websites or using third-party services is subject to those services’ own privacy policies and terms.
6. Analytics and diagnostics
Apple may provide crash or diagnostic information through App Store and developer systems depending on your Apple privacy settings. Apple-provided diagnostics are governed by Apple’s policies.
7. Advertising and tracking
Cine 5.1 is not designed to use third-party advertising networks or behavioural advertising tracking for its core features.
8. Data selling
MacThru does not sell personal information collected through Cine 5.1.
9. Clearing data
Where the app provides controls for history or preferences, you can use those controls to clear or change locally stored information. Removing the extension may also remove local extension data according to Safari and macOS behaviour.
10. Third-party services
Netflix, Prime Video and IMDb are independent third-party services. Their own data practices apply when you use their websites or accounts. MacThru is not affiliated with or endorsed by those services unless explicitly stated.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Cine 5.1 features, permissions or data handling change.
12. Contact
For privacy questions about Cine 5.1, contact MacThru through the support information published on this website.
